Clothing’s journey across the world

Look into or imagine an item of clothing’s journey across the world. Check out the materials of the Helsinki Metropolitan Area Reuse Centre

Prepare a map of the journey of a particular item of clothing and calculate the assumed number of kilometres travelled by the item, from fibre to a finished product sold at a shop.

  • Where was the fibre grown or manufactured?
  • Where was the fabric woven?
  • Where was the fabric dyed or printed?
  • Where was the item of clothing sewn?
  • Where is the item of clothing sold?
  • What will happen to the item of clothing after use?
